I have had enough of my dcs on this holiday

I've just left dd(22), ds(14) and ds (9) in the room
They seem to think it's hilarious to complain about everything, fight, shout, scream and generally play up
I told them if they didn't start behaving I would speak to airline tomorrow about going home and they all laughed so I've left them

I'm utterly miserable

I'd put the holiday money into savings until they've all left home and then go on a holiday so utterly fabulous they are begging to come with you.

Then I'd give them the finger.

I stuck with the just the cat so there is a place I can put him for a week...really a human version is needed. Like a boarding school but for holidays.

I took my 11yr old and 17yr old boys away to Greece on my own earlier in the month,it was hell. The fighting and arguing did my head in. And then they wouldn't stop when I asked and ganged up on me. Only happy when we did a trip to the water park. where I lost my youngest and life guards were searching and our bus was about to leave. Has put me off going away ever again

Hope you make it through the next two days and feel better

Give holidays a miss next year and the following year just take your youngest. There are lots of activity/sailing type holidays for parents and kids.

Aprilshowersinaugust · 30/08/2018 13:57

You need to consider the repercussions they should reap once home.
Dd 11 was hideous all week end we have just been away. Her regular activity has been cancelled until further notice - told her life isn't slotting back to its cushy same for her for a while - and I mean it.

HellonHeels · 30/08/2018 15:04

You poor thing! Take some of the codeine, it should help that pain. Flowers

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 30/08/2018 16:34

I feel your pain. My most memorable holiday from hell involved the blended family, and a step-daughter (old enough to behave better) who was unaccountably deaf if it was me speaking and not her DF....

I am convinced there is a gap in the market for a sort of kennels for appropriately inoculated children/teenagers/young adults whilst parents actually have a stress-free holiday Grin

MozzchopsThirty · 30/08/2018 17:09

To top things off I've just had a lovely passive aggressive text off my ex in laws saying of course they'll have the dcs whilst I go to Thailand with an added 'the question is how do the dcs feel about it'

I am literally on the verge of A FUCKING BREAKDOWN

OP posts:
lolaflores · 30/08/2018 17:35

Mozzchoops30....hold on tight there. Deep breath and give their bullsgit the swerve. Put it to one side for now do t go e it any space until you feel able.

lolaflores · 30/08/2018 17:38

Ignore what anyone else needs. Time to put yourself at the front of the queue and permission to do so. You also exist as an individual with needs and rights that don't need to be negotiated.
No ex0lanations necessary. Don't dignify it with a response

MozzchopsThirty · 30/08/2018 17:53

Thank you, wise words I know
I have no intention of replying now, I don't have the headspace for it

Gohackyourself · 30/08/2018 18:15

Op I feel your pain, earlier in year I took ds 17, sd 13 and ds 10.
The only decent behaved one was ds10.
The other two only interested in wi Fi, food an sd 13 posing playing queen bee with girls round the pool.

I find it really hard not to be angry at them. I also find it hard they do not even appear to regonise how hard I’ve worked to pay for these holidays etc totally ungrateful.
I’ve come to conclusion that any child between 12-18 yrs old are selfish arses ( my children an other people’s) they just want Wi- Fi, shit food, sleep An their friends. A lovely holiday no matter how hard you have somewhere you think pleases them is wasted.
You may as well go on own, or choose somewhere you like or just don’t bother till their 18!!

MozzchopsThirty · 31/08/2018 13:19

So last day update I am virtually pain free but the dcs have been fighting so badly by the pool I've just left them there
Dd is just laughing

OP posts:
Aprilshowersinaugust · 31/08/2018 13:24

I seriously hope you have made a list of changes you will be making once home.
Cash /lifts /friends over /washing /ironing for the older ones /all stops imo.

MozzchopsThirty · 31/08/2018 13:25

And dd drew this on my back in front of her brothers 🙈

OP posts:
Aprilshowersinaugust · 31/08/2018 13:50

Maybe time for her to move out. ...

Elementtree · 31/08/2018 14:05

Maybe you could write 'move out' in suntan lotion on her back?

lolaflores · 31/08/2018 15:10

Oh definitely time for Dd to have a learning moment about courtesy and appropriate behaviour in front of her siblings.
Glad to hear the pain has improved.
Sorry you r having so much rubbish. Are they normally this difficult

YourHandInMyHand · 31/08/2018 15:46

They sound hideous.

Do go to Thailand. Leave them in the hands of a responsible relative and have a lovely time without them.

I'd also be assessing how things would be changing at home too to try and make them slightly less hideous towards you.

Not all teens are horrid on holidays, being a teenager isn't a free pass to treating people like shit. I managed to behave like a decent human being as a teen on holiday with my mum, and my DS is a teen who can still behave with respect regardless of location.

Hope you feel better soon OP and get some peace when you get home.

MrsAmaretto · 31/08/2018 16:37

Fucking hell your DD is a bitch.

22 and acting like an out of control 12 year old? Why is she with you? Why is she not a proper grown up?

No wonder your younger kids act up if they see an adult treating you like a piece of dogs shit? Seriously re-evaluate whatever is going on with her when you get home - what was your life like at 22? I was financial independent, renting my own wee flat hundreds of miles away from my mum on a graduate scheme. Honestly I can't believe you are in the situation where an adult has ruined your family holiday. If it was a husband acting like that you'd be told to LTB.

I hope you feel better when you get home but you really need a plan of action on how you deal with her to make it clear to your other children that treating mum like shit is not tolerated.

Chipotlejars · 31/08/2018 16:39

I think I would be leaving the 22 yr old out of my holiday plans next year on the grounds of immature behaviour. If she can't be an ally and a help to you op especially when you are ill; then I think I would be spelling it out that she doesn't deserve a free holiday. She is more than capable of helping , supporting and setting a good example at that age surely? She really shouldn't be the cause of more stress to you op and egging her brothers on. Time to get tough I think.

Chipotlejars · 31/08/2018 16:41

Didn't mean that to sound judgey btw, I have issues with my 15 yr old being a complete pita from time to time, but 22 yrs is old enough to act responsibly I reckon.

LoafEater · 31/08/2018 16:56

I would pay £££££ for teenager kennels.

We haven’t been away this year, but DS14 has ruined all day trips, meals out and a weekend away. We went to an outdoor museum type place last weekend and had lunch in the cafe first. He was so rude, disrespectful and horrid, I marched him back to the car and left him there for 2 hours while we went in without him. He has had me in tears at least half a dozen times in the last 6 weeks and I called him a little wanker the other day 😳.

The only time he is civil to me is when he is leading up to asking for money.

Your DS sounds horrible. She is an adult and should know better by now. I’d be having a serious conversation with her at home and she would deffo be moving out!

lolaflores · 31/08/2018 18:20

Dear mozzchoops30, just tell them Christmas is being heavily restructured in a direction that will impact them.
You know what, it's Bullying really. Across the board, for everyone here that's been crapped on by ungrateful and rude children. Not on.

Whippedtoafrenzy · 31/08/2018 18:33

🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷

For you all. Just coming out the other end and wouldn’t do that shit again for all the tea in China.
