The London Scar Clinic - anyone use them?

Hi - I'm looking for recommendations for a scar revision surgery to correct a facial scar that bothers me. Has anyone used the above clinic, or alternatively, another surgeon and can recommend them? Thank you!

Hi there

I’ve no idea about surgery I’m afraid but have you tried laser treatment, silicone patches and/or steroid injections?

I had a terrible scar, purple, lumpy, bumpy and very unsightly. I used silicone patches which flattened it then I had laser treatment (about 6 sessions) which faded it out. You can’t really see it now and it was awful.

If you’ve already tried these, I’m sorry, just trying to inform you of options to try before surgery in case you can avoid it.

I haven't tried those, but not sure if they'd work for me.

I'm happy in general with the appearance of the scar - it isn't the scar that is ugly per se, but it is a very raised patch of skin created by excision of a BCC and then having to rotate a piece of neighbouring skin to cover it. I was told by the original surgeon that if it didn't go down i would need a 'debulking' operation to flatten it.

If the silicone patches would help with this I would love to try them, but suspect it might be surgery only? (And not one the NHS can help with, unfortunately, as it is purely my pride that is hurt).
