What stupid thing have you cried at lately?

I'll start -

The moment in The Big Bang Theory where Howard sings to Bernadette whilst she's in quarantine.
The way he sings it and looks at her gets me everytime - and e4 is so often on in the background I've seen it a lot!

What about you? Grin

I have sobbed over ER again I've seen it, I know what's going to happen, but my heart is breaking for Greene all over again.Sad

The highlights of the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo that was on TV earlier. There was nothing emotional about it, but those sorts of skilful performances always choke me up (with the exception of bagpipes).

I cry when I think about whales. They’re so big, but so vulnerable because they get tangled up in fishing nets. Other sea creatures get tangled up as well and it’s so overwhelmingly sad. I love whales so much, just thinking about them makes me feel emotional. I’m normally very tough and don’t cry about anything.

ClaudiaNaughton · 27/08/2018 22:15

Edinburgh Tattoo also. Makes me homesick.

salopek · 27/08/2018 22:35

I cried for about 20 minutes over a cat on a cat haven/rescue instagram page who had surgery on his eye (he was missing an eye) and is now looking for his forever home.

Parmaviolets13 · 27/08/2018 22:42

Oh these are all so sad!! I do agree with whales, it's so heartbreaking. They are such beautiful creatures and they're doing us no harm (that I know of?)

I didn't see the Edinburgh tattoo but I try to avoid military things as it makes me cry, especially the last post.

When I saw my latest work rota Sad

IndigoSpritz · 27/08/2018 23:08

I'm not an emotional man, but I know folk get worked up over the last few minutes of The Railway Children (Daddy etc.) and the bit in Fly Away Home when the Canada geese follow the microlight.

BlueUggs · 27/08/2018 23:13

Mamma Mia 2

Finfintytint · 27/08/2018 23:14

Funny you should mention the tattoo. It did feel quite emotional. I was watching it with an elderly lady with dementia who is very much living in the moment. She loved it but didn't " see the point in bagpipes" as they " are not very tuneful, are they? " lol

There was a thing on earlier about home and away, which I haven't watched for years, but I was channel hoping and caught a scene with the original pippa so kept watching. Later in the show they were discussing how when sally left and said goodbye to Alf it was actually the actors kate and ray saying goodbye after working together for so long.

I got hit by some level of emotion that made me feel like I was 14 again Blush and sat with tears streaming down my face for ages!

Parmaviolets13 · 27/08/2018 23:22

Ahaha TheHobbit I totally know that feeling 🙄

Car SOS. Every. Damn. Time. Thanks Nat Geo channel for a weekend of the bloody programme non-stop, me and DP have been sitting on the sofa sobbing at the endings, our toddler wasn't sure what to make of it all Smile

FourAlarmFire · 27/08/2018 23:29

Christopher Robin Blush It really struck a chord for both me and DH (the idea that life is passing you by and you’re missing the chance to enjoy your children because you’re so focused on work). Afterwards we were both a bit teary and I had to ask DH for a hug! DD just stared at me Hmm

Looking back on some old texts and fb messages from a friend who turned out to be a narc, the warning signs were there all along but I ignored them as I thought she was a lovely sweet person...more fool me, I got burnt, yet still cried today even though it was a few months back she ghosted me for her next victim(s).

SimonBridges · 27/08/2018 23:43

The opening titles to Bagpuss.

ImTakingTheEssence · 27/08/2018 23:49

Needsleep my best friend was exactly as you described. It broke my heart. I haven't spoke to her in 6 years i got warned what she was like. Shes had many victims i had a lucky escape. You will see it in the long run. Still hurts though.

Last week I was in a lift at a train station and as the doors opened I heard what I thought was a siren starting behind me. Then I realised it was actually a woman in the lift who had just spotted her family waiting outside the doors. I can only assume they hadn't seen each other in some time, and I don't think she was expecting them to be right there waiting, hence the siren-like wail of joy. It was a very happy and emotional reunion, complete with lots of hugs and a very cute toddler being passed around.

Looking back it was only a matter of seconds as I got out of the lift, but the raw emotion of it made me immediately weep like a baby. I was so happy for them.

Penguin34 · 28/08/2018 00:12

I cried because I saw a dog that looked sad - he probably wasn't, he was sitting nicely outside a school on a lead and waiting for a child, he just had his head hung a bit.

I also cried because my husband and doggy looked so cute cuddled up together on the sofa.

I should add I'm very heavily pregnant
