Security queues at Stansted?

Has anyone flown out of Stansted recently? How long did it take to get through security?

They are usually very long. Well worth paying for fast track.

I go through regularly and it really depends on the day and the time, I would say Thursday afternoon/early evening is the worst with lots of groups heading away for weekends. I always allow at least 30 minutes to get through, although it can be less if you are lucky. The other issue is the long walk to the "holding pen" then the mad dash to the gate once the gate is displayed as it is usually only 30 mins before departure and it can take 10 mins to walk or wait for the shuttle train.

The worst i’ve seen it is early morning. You get there at 6am thinking you’ll have the airport to yourself and it’s chaos!

Once the machines checking the boarding cards before the security check had broken down and it took me 1.5 hours to get through the fast track!

Flew out last Tuesday on a 06:30 flight and although the lines were long they moved very quickly (10 mins). Stanstead has an awful reputation regarding security but we have always got through relatively quickly. It is grim but most airports seem to be these days
