Toddlers messy play ideas

Getting kitchen ripped out in September so going to make the most of it this week doing lots of painting and messy play with my 2yo and his wee friends when they come to visit.

Any ideas for messy play materials that aren't food items?

Painting stones, collected on a nature walk.
Get some of that plain paper from Ikea, on a wallpaper roll, so that they can draw round themselves and colour their outlines.
Making balloon men/women/creatures.

My DS’ nursery did ‘potion making’ with what I assume was coloured water with vinegar in-add bicarbonate of soda and it foams everywhere (they also added glitter)

Shaving foam with stuff hidden in it?

Drawing patterns in flour

Cornflower and water is always good fun

Walking through trays of different textures (often done with food stuff tho)

Can't do any walks just now, just had op on my ankle so ordering stuff from amazon Partly the reason I'm thinking of indoor activities too.

Ok have ordered; new paint and brushes (have huge rolls of paper already)
Non toxic glitters
Food dyes
Shaving foam
Water bead things
Couple of big plastic bowls

I have flour in the cupboard and I think bicarbonate of soda. Have some plastic bottles so might be able to do something with them.

The reason I don't like doing it with food stuffs is that it makes me feel queasy. And encourages ds to play with his food at dinner time.

Ps paint wise nursery always doing stuff like printing with potato mashers, running you cars through paint and then over paper, painting with plastic forks etc. DS always seems to enjoy it!

Cornflour and water gloop.

Soapflakes and hot water (1:3 ratio) whisked together make great slime.

Mix 175mlbaby hair conditioner and 250g cornflour together for about a minute until it comes together. Knead the dough for another minute until it's smooth. We call this cloud fluff!
