Sunday evening entertainment tips, London in October?

We're going to London in October. Got a late afternoon /evening to fill on a Sunday.

Looks like most theatres don't have performances on Sunday evenings. Any ideas?

It'll be me, DP, and our Harry Potter mad eight year old son (trip is to visit studios on the Monday).

Based at King's Cross so the tube network is our oyster. Even just a great place for dinner would be great, or a cinema so good it doesn't matter much what's on?

Inamo in Sohor or somewhere at st Katherine's dock for dinner.
Wander along the Southbank.
Try time out for what's on - if it's end of October there may be cool stuff over half term or Halloween stuff. Maybe a ghost walk if he's a brave one?!

Yes I did think about South Bank, it'll be DS first time in London and its a good way to see the skyline etc.

Trip to to the Sky Gardens. Marvellous views, completely free, just book a time slot on the website. Take ID.

I assume that you'll be going to the Platform 9 3/4 shop at Kings Cross!
The Science Museum and Natural History Museum are both open until 6, and so are many other museums.
The London Eye operates until late.
City Cruises boat trips along the Thames operate into the evening and the last boats are at about 7:30. It's magical going along in the dark.
You're staying quite close to Bloomsbury Lanes which is a diner and one of the best bowling alleys in the city. Children are allowed until 8pm on Sundays.
