Anyone gone back to a dumb phone?

I’m considering getting rid of the smart phone and getting a “dumb phone”. I spend so much of the day on my phone and I feel like I need to make the change. I am worried about not having the online banking app available at any time but that’s about it.

Anyone made the change? Any regrets.

I did with my work phone. Now I charge it once a week and it always has a signal.

I've been thinking about doing the same! I've been wondering whether there is an app that can 'hide' the smart functionality rather than dispense with it entirely, so I can keep access to certain accounts. Or is a 'soft mexit' just a cop-out?!

I think about this a lot, the idea fills me with anxiety. What I did was delete all social media apps and web browsers. I had to turn on parental controls and of course I know the passcode and could just undo it, but so far it has helped some.

@SallyOMalley yes I’ve considered this too - just deleting social media apps etc but everything is still accessible via the websites. I’d probably end up using my phone more because it would take longer to log in every time. And even without social m did it’s endless scrolling of news websites etc. I really want to just do it but don’t know what’s holding me back.

Same as the diet I’ve been meaning to start for a few months...

Oh Die I didn’t know you could delete the browser. That’s a good idea. And you are still her to tell the tale so can’t be that bad?!?

I have thought about that but I need it for directions and google maps.

What I could do is uninstall fb off my phone.

I don’t know about android but on iPhone you can disable the browser by turning on parental controls.

I had to give up work. Sad but I simultaneously gave up my smart phone as I just didn't need to constantly keep receiving work stuff. I now have 2 phones which are in my desk. Only get them fired up when I'm out and need a taxi/make "I'm on the train/plane/type" calls. Banking etc. I do from my ipad.
I'm still loving the freedom.Smile
