Why the hell did I google these symptoms.....

I know I should never Google any symptoms, so could someone talk me down....

I think I have an UTI or a kidney infection. What I thought were period pains are not. I have an appointment in two hours to see the doctor. I noticed that my nails are a half and half colour too.

So I Googled this and according to everything I clicked on, I am in renal failure

FGS why do I do this .....

What do you mean by 'half and half colour'? What colour are they?

Kaytee, the bottom half of my nail is like a white opague with no moon, and the top half is a dark pink colour. The nail tip is white like normal.

When I googled, Lindsays nails is what came up.

Why don't you go see a dr and have the dr check your symptoms instead of searching google and causing yourself unnecessary worry...if you have a kidney infection you may need antibiotics anyway as left untreated they can cause kidney damage

How did the doctor visit go OP?

@Anxious2niteaaah did you read the OP? It said she was going to the doctors in a couple of hours.

OP I hope everything turned out okay, I try not to google anything, it always ends up sounding like I have something horrendous!

Thanks all. He could not pick up anything untoward which is a bit weird as I have definite kidney pain. I had a bad ibs flare up recently, so colon is tender and he thinks it might be radiated pain.

Doesn't explain the nails though, so have to keep an eye on this.

So a bit of an uneventful doctors visit. Although he does not seem to think I am in renal failure . Which is helpful as I have a busy weekend planned.

I will refrain from Googling anything in the future.

@murphys I know this is an old post but did your nails colour returned back to normal?

I'm also interested in this. @murphys I have the same pale lower half of my nails, toes only ... Feeling well but just noticed this odd change, so I'll check it out with my GP when I'm home from a holiday. Did you get any info?
