I have a job interview this week and I'll cry if I don't get it!

I hate interviews and i'm determined to be as prepared as I can be for this one. If I get it it'll be a 6k payrise and it'll mean we can buy a nicer house.

The job is an internal role for an administrator with a project co-ordinator/finance reporting slant. It'll be a panel interview based around competency questions.

Has any got any tips/advice/happy thoughts?

Read through the job description and job specification and make notes for yourself about how you have done/have expedience with each point.
Try and premempt what they may ask you. ( What are your strengths, can you give me examples of when you.........' that type of thing)
The best advice is to prep, prep prep in advance.
On the day make sure you have something to eat. I always take a small bottle of water with me if in case I get dry mouth before the interview. Go in, look confident and answer with assertiveness.
If you get stuck on a question and need a bit more time ask them to repeat the question.
Good luck!

Read up on the company itself - it's history, progress, anything in the news, policy statements/philosophy.
Have a question ready for when they ask if you have any questions st the end

Practice answering in the STAR format. Show the panel your personality - if the candidate bores me, it's a no, regardless of anything else.

Good luck!

It's for a compliance role, We're supposed to be boring! Grin

I'm trying to think of recent examples of times I've done something that uses my skills and it's depressingly difficult. I didn't realise how stuck on the mummy track I'd become.
