Nice, but not too pricey bedding?

I'm moving back to the UK after a few years away in a couple of months. We're going to have to set up home from scratch (we barely have 1 fork to our name) and I want to treat myself to some really fluffy pillows, a new duvet and some pretty bedding to get cosy under as a starting point to making us feel at home! Smile

Does anyone have any recommendations of where I should start looking? In the past I used to buy all bedding from Amazon/ASDA but found the pillows went flat quite quickly and would like something a bit better. We could probably stretch to £150. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

The duvet covers from ASDA are lovely - I've got a lot of white cotton ones from there.

ASDA/George for duvets & pillows, H&M home for sheets, pillow cases & duvet covers (their washed cotton stuff is so comfy).

I have brused cotton bedding from Helena Springfield. Really cosy in winter.

I second Dunelm Mills, they do a lot of reversible sets which I love for a bit of variety. Very reasonably priced too.

Pinkroseuk · 26/08/2018 21:20

Soak and sleep online - they have some great offers and good quality

I’ve got a really nice high thread count Egyptian cotton set from Vision something or other, I’ll try and find it.

They supply hotels and it was recommended on MN. Best bedding I’ve ever had and a full king size set was less than £50 if I remember correctly.

Stroller15 · 26/08/2018 21:21

ASDA has nice duvet covers and sheets but the pillows go really flat quickly - went to John Lewis and they have some great medium firm ones (and surprisingly not pricey!)

doleritedinosaur · 26/08/2018 21:21

I second Asda really nice bedding.

Ikea have lovely sets too. Primark & Asda for brushed cotton sheets too.

Zara bedding in the sale as long as it’s a decent thread count. I’ve had some for a few years and it still looks good. Tkmaxx for good quality pillows.

Thank you! I'll start checking out the websites of the above suggestions-have always fancied H&M Home, is their stuff in shops or just online. I have so much stuff from IKEA here in the US I'm slightly IKEA-ed out Grin. Apart from the Kallax units, they are my fave.

Ikea. My Asda and H&M sets are both still a bit rough and not my favourites after a couple of years. Ikea get used more than anything - just don't buy the cheapest.

Also suggest looking in TK Maxx/Homesense for bargain good quality stuff.

yorkshireyummymummy · 26/08/2018 21:24

Dunelm. They have some really great quality Dorma bedding at fab prices. If you are lucky you might catch them with a sale. I wanted a white fitted sheet but there was a pale pink one and I saved a tenner! They have them from 300 - 700 thread count. I paid £30 for a 500 threadcount kingsized sheet. They have some lovely duvet sets in all different price ranges - have a look online.
They are very reasonable for pillows and duvets too. If my budget was £150 I would buy quite ‘ cheap,’ pillows and duvet with a look to ‘upgradimg’ in the future butbuy the best quality cotton sheets/duvet sets my budget would stretch too. Thecotton is what will be next to your skin and you want it to feel nice.
But check online and see what they have. Also, look on groupon. They get good promotions on pillows etc. I have bought them on there.
Hope your move is smooth and easy.

We have a gorgeous set from Dunelm (they dropped the Mill part a while back!). It’s really soft and gorgeous to snuggle under.

VodkaLimeSoda27 · 26/08/2018 21:26

Oh wow, I cross posted with lots of you! Lots of suggestions- thank you ❤. So looking forward to snuggling under a lovely new duvet after months of endless humidity in the US.

I bought a spare king size white duvet cover from Wilco. It was about £10 and is as good as my one from IKEA.
