How often do your DC contact you if with their NRP for a week in the holidays?

My 2 DC have contacted me once in the whole week to say they'd arrived at their holiday destination (southern UK). Eldest said her dad couldn't find her phone so she's not had it all week but could phone from his. They both usually say they've been discouraged from contacting me as never the right time. So I'm just wondering how often is average for phone calls/texts. They are 11 and 9.

Mine are 5 and 7 so no own phones but I’d say 2 out of 3 days I’ll video chat with them for five minutes or so. Don’t mind putting it off it they’re busy or out but it’s nice to touch base with them - no worries about their care or wellbeing though, literally just to say hi and hear what they’ve been up to.
