.......would it take you, kitchen to kitchen to go and get some by the fastest means possible.Something ordinary but not everyday-not cow's milk and a white sliced loaf, but not ewe's milk and an artisanal spelt loaf either. it took me 18 minutes 35
seconds to go for ground coffee this morning.

Err, I'd need to wait til the 9am bus tomorrow morning.
Leave house at 8.50, hope to be back at 10.45.

LtGreggs · 26/08/2018 14:17

About 12 minutes in normal shop hours. About 20 if needed to drive to supermarket.
We don't have a 24 hr shop though.

MamaRaisingBoys · 26/08/2018 14:18

Probably around 20 minutes

Rockbird · 26/08/2018 14:19

About 5 minutes. Not sure the shop at the top of the road sells ground coffee but if the coffee shop next door was open they probably would.

TheWoollybacksWife · 26/08/2018 14:20

I could go by car to our local convenience store and back in under 10 minutes. Walking would take 15/20 minutes - both trips allowing for browsing and paying time.

MrsPnut · 26/08/2018 14:21

I walked yesterday morning to get milk, it took me 8 minutes round trip.

Floralnomad · 26/08/2018 14:23

About 10 minutes if you can buy it in Tesco as I live about 3 minutes away .

We have a smallish Tesco Superstore within 3 minutes drive, with ample parking and rarely any queues at the self serve so I could probably get coffee and be back to the house in around 10 minutes.

In reality it would take 20-40 mins as I would either have a mooch around and get other things, or bump into someone and have a chat.

Sirzy · 26/08/2018 14:26

Car to corner shop would take me about 2 mins (I obviously walk normally but if urgent!)

Car to asda around 5-8 mins.

Windmillsinsummer · 26/08/2018 14:27

10 mins from door - shop - door

CraftyGin · 26/08/2018 14:28

5 minutes walk to Sainsbury, 2 minutes to use Smart Shop, 5 minutes back.

OhHolyFuck · 26/08/2018 14:28

I live about a 10 minute walk from a Booths so I guess 25 minutes including there and back and a wonder round the pastries....

Lovelydovey · 26/08/2018 14:30

Sainsbury’s local or Tesco Express worthy? If so 5 mins walk each way. Bigger supermarket worthy 5 mins drive each way.

MrsPear · 26/08/2018 14:30

Depends - if I’m at home in London I could walk to the co op in 10 minutes or Aldi in 20. If I was in North Albania - I would have to go by car and a tiny local shop would be around 30 minutes down a off road mountain track. Main town 45 minutes. Although it is rather crap and I would rather drive into Kosovo which is about hour and half. Depends what I needed.

Heratnumber7 · 26/08/2018 14:31

Couple of minutes if it was something I could borrow from neighbours. 15 mins if I went to nearest Sainsbury's by car.

GooodMythicalMorning · 26/08/2018 14:32

3/4 mins

AdoraBell · 26/08/2018 14:32

30 minute walk to supermarket. On a non bank holiday weekend I could get milk in the local bakers, that’s a 20 minute walk.

RhinestoneCowgirl · 26/08/2018 14:33

We have a baker's shop at the end of our road, so milk and bread is pretty quick - there and back within a couple of mins. But it's not open on Sundays or after about 4pm.

For other stuff we have Tesco metro within 5 min walk and a small Coop that's not much further.

ClashCityRocker · 26/08/2018 14:33

Twenty minutes any time of the day, I think. We live a five minute drive from a 24 hour tesco.

AdoraBell · 26/08/2018 14:33

Forgot, when DH is home it would be a five minute drive to the supermarket.

MollyHuaCha · 26/08/2018 14:34

Well stocked corner shop 3 mins walk

IncrediblySturdyPyjamas · 26/08/2018 14:35

10 mins to the nearest co-op.

5 mins whizz round to grab the item and queue.

30 mins waiting for them to take my money whilst faffing, being unable to work the till, letting people leave without paying and then telling me all about it when I watched them faff so much that they just didn't see the person that had the thing in their hand and just not pay for it, then to shout out to another staff member that someone had left without paying for something, then have a group discussion about someone leaving without paying for something.

10 mins back home.

SneakyGremlins · 26/08/2018 14:36

28 seconds away is a McColl's

theunsure · 26/08/2018 14:38

About an hour, nearest shops are 20 min drive away. So 40 mins driving plus parking and going to shop.
It wouldn't happen-it just gets added to the weekly online shop. Until then I live without it as I never go to town just for one thing-too much hassle when you live rurally!
