St George's University of London - what's it like?

I have an offer to study a masters in Global Health at St George's. Very happy Smile as course content really interests me.

Slightly concerned about university rankings, however?

Plans are to move to my DP's country in a year or two so should I worry because St George's doesn't have a recognisable name like UCL? The thing is, degrees are expensive in DP's country so I'd definitely prefer to study here at home in London this year - it makes a lot more sense financially.

I'm waiting to hear back from Queen Mary and wondering to apply to UCL.

My friend just graduated from here (medical doctor). Is it not part of “university of London”? It’s recognised/well known over here, mainly for medicine I guess.

One thing I have heard is it’s a bit chaotic, the organisation of lectures and placements. Lots of last minute emails and turning up to lectures that didn’t exist! It’s got great teaching though from what my friend said and they spent a lot of time on wards... not in classrooms which has been hard but now she has a job she realises it was a good thing. My friend had no issue finding a very good job in a great hospital.

Oh, didn't see you post! That's great your friend liked it and has got a very good job, I really like the look of it as a place to study too. The course looks so interesting.

Sorry if I'm being a bit dim, but when you day "over here" do you mean in part of the UK or elsewhere?
