Packing

We go on holiday very soon, I'm usually really good at packing, motivated and get it done in one go. But not this year, it seems such an effort, everything seems a mess.

Any tips to make it easy, I've written a list, but even that's half arsed!!

Plan outfits for every day + maybe 1/2 spares and that's it. Don't pack anything extra!
Use packing cubes, they're fab. I have the Ryherst ones from Amazon but similar ones would do the same job.

I didn't pack until the day before we left this year. I made a list of all essentials, ironed everything, laid it all out on the bed/floor/any available space and then just knuckled down and packed it all in one afternoon. Less likely to forget things if I leave it until the last minute as I remember what I've packed. I also find it easier to not let anyone else get involved. Dp is on hand if I ask him to do anything but he tends to stay out of the way!

Good idea about laying out on the bed, I think this is what I need as it'll help me see all that we've got to take!

I have packing cubes, used them for quite a while and sing their praises to people, which is why I'm confused I can't get into the packing spirit this year!!

I'm going to start now, the crappy weather outside is also an incentive!

I've just come back - when I packed (and DD did the same) we made sure that every top/bottom went with at least two other things . Dresses are stand alone
Only three pairs of shoes -one to wear , flip flops (nice ones ) and sandles to walk about.

I didn't have packing cubes but I did buy some zip fasten bags
