What are you looking forward to eating once the weather starts to turn?

I can’t wait to cook a Sausage and Lentil stew with soda bread and a apple and plum crumble with custard. It’s become a tradition once the weather gets cold enough to wear coats x3 days in a row.

Great thread!

I made ham braised in cider in the slow cooker today. It felt autumnal with all the rain so bit was perfect food for todau. Was totally delicious.

Soup is the thing I most look forward to. Sandwiches are such a disappointing lunch!

Grumpbum123 · 26/08/2018 22:10

I agree about soup for lunch I usually take soup and a piece of HM soda bread as it’s so easy to make.

Homemade sweet potato, butternut squash and chilli soup Grin

Sadik · 26/08/2018 22:48

I was just thinking today about making a vegetable crumble with a seedy/oaty topping & tomato-y gravy.

And I've ordered Stewed! too :) (for the grand total of £2.51 including postage on ebay - how could I not !!!)

Sadik · 26/08/2018 22:49

I eat soup for lunch all year round though - lighter ones in summer like courgette/chard, fresh tomato, that sort of thing.

Grumpbum123 · 27/08/2018 03:37

@Lunarsey I use this one and has never failed

VeryFoolishFay That's the recipe I always use - it's brilliant! I have one in the oven right now! We need to pick some more blackberries to freeze for the winter.
