Best white wine from Sainsbury's £5-£6

I need to bulk buy wine for a charity event and Sainsbury's have 25% off till tomorrow. I've decided on the red (Leopard's Leap Shiraz - £5.25) but don't drink white so please can Mumsnetters advise the best white wine to please the most number of people at the event (predominantly female event). Thanks!

Seem to remember the House Pinot Grigio is pretty good? And cheap!

mostdays · 25/08/2018 18:40

I really like their own brand Sauvignon Blanc and will generally buy it even when 'better' wines are on offer at the same price.

McGuigan Classic Chardonnay (just over £5)

This one @mostdays. It'd be fun to get a box of wine. I've never done it before!

This one @gerbo?

@Itsacakebaby whilst I've tried some lovely Chardonnay I think people at this event would reject it simply because it's chardonnay regardless of the quality. But thank you.

Box wine and house wines are exclud ed from the offer.

Why not have the leopards leap in the white as well

AppleKatie · 25/08/2018 20:50

Mondello (so?) Pinot Grigio

Itchytights · 25/08/2018 20:52

Pinot definitely.

Tis quite nice.

IndigoSpritz · 25/08/2018 21:12

Verdichio (spelling ?) is usually around £6.00 in most supermarkets.

Ecoboom · 25/08/2018 21:14

Just my luck. Changing the order and the site is down!!!

Sainsburys Verdicchio del Castelli di Jesi Taste The Difference is an excellent buy at £6 (save a £1) and included in the offer you want.

Starisnotanumber · 25/08/2018 21:46

Theres a limit on how many bottles you can get. If you're above the level Asda have a 25% off offer on as well

rainbowsandsmiles · 25/08/2018 21:50

The house pinot grigio is really nice. I also like the sauvignon blanc.

WhereIsBlueRabbit · 25/08/2018 21:53

La Touraine Sauvignon Blanc is very nice. Usually around £6/7 per bottle.

They also do an own brand Gruner Veltliner which is good but I think that's more like £8 a bottle.

Ecoboom · 25/08/2018 22:15

Thanks everyone! I went with @PestymcPestFace and vinho verde because it sounded like I might drink it if I end up with shed loads. And with the deal it was £3.75 a bottle!!

OP posts:
Ecoboom · 25/08/2018 22:16

The house ones weren't on deal as @SpockSmashesScissors predicted. The Leopard's Leap white version didn't sound like I'd like it or I'd have been lazy and just got it!
