Sweating like crazy when I'm asleep

That's it really. For about a year now, every time I've slept (even a short nap) I wake up drenched in sweat. I have to shower and wash my hair.

It happens everywhere - whether I'm hot or cold, no matter the location or the weather. I have to change my sheets much more regularly than before and my PJs stink after one wear.

Any ideas what's causing this or what I can do about it? I'm 26.

Night sweats can be a feature of some illnesses so worth a chat with your GP

Can be caused by thyroid problems, medication side effects and a host of other things. I'd see your GP.

My GP is rubbish sadly. Utterly crap, desperate to get me out of the door as soon as I sit down because they're back to back busy.

I've raised my thyroid with her but she just told me to go away. I've booked an appointment this morning but the next available one is on the 18th September.

I am having anxiety problems after a traumatic experience 12 months ago. I'm on beta blockers to stop panicking and on the waitlist for therapy.

I'm always exhausted and my quality of life is really poor as a result.
