Meaning insurances and things?

Dh and I are splitting up and I need to work out how.

If you rent I believe the landlord should have buildings insurance and you should arrange contents insurance for your belongings.

Contents insurance for your own possessions. The landlord should have buildings insurance and insurance for any contents that are included.

All utility bills, obviously.

Money aside to pay for application/renewal fees. Ideally a fund for new deposit and moving costs in case you get given notice but I've never managed that one!

Yep, contents insurance and council tax, and usually all the bills as well as they’re rarely included.
Make sure you rent through a reputable agency, that your deposit is held in a proper scheme and you read you contract properly on what upkeep you will be responsible for and what your landlord will be.

Removal firm or van hire yourself.

If you move there will be end of tenency expenses, cleaning, child money sweep, carpets cleaned, windows and the agency mat ask for receipts to show these have been done. This is money you’ll need access to upfront before you get your deposit back.
