Need somewhere for Sunday early evening. Staying near Georges Square and no car. DS likes pasta, pizza, vegs etc. We like Indian, chinese tapas etc any suggestions? Cosmo would of been ideal but too far out the city

Lovely naan bread at Koolba.

Blankiefan · 25/08/2018 12:22

If you fancy Mexican, topolabamba is good - quite like wahaca.

NoWordForFluffy · 25/08/2018 12:23

Chaakoo does lovely Indian food. It's about 5 minutes' walk up St Vincent's St from the square. Perhaps a touch further, but not as much as 10 minutes!

My fave Chinese is the amber regent if you go early they do half price mains

BakedBeans47 · 25/08/2018 12:25

In fact it’s all evening on a Sunday

I like Bar Soba www.barsoba.co.uk. There's a few dotted round the city centre.

Pan Asian street food.

Love Cafe Fish! (Not just fish...)

meikyo · 25/08/2018 12:28

Paesano in Miller Street is one minute walk from George Square. Busy but fun atmosphere and great pizza.

comeagainforbigfudge · 25/08/2018 12:31

Oooh theres loads of places, miller st has several pizza places.
St vincent st has topolabamba - mexican
Theres pizza punks on other side oppo that does pizza, burger places galore (bread meats bread is good)
Cafe andaluz, just off st george sq for tapas
Jamies italian, or browns actually on george sq.

I've never eaten in Koolba if you're looking for an Indian restaurant in the merchant city (next to George sq) try dhabba or dahkin it's sister restaurant across the road. Food is good.

For pizza definitely paesano on miller street. Best pizza ever. I don't think you can book, just turn up and you'll be seated pretty quickly.

Posted to soon, this is a buffet place, one on renfield st closest to george square. Not been in a long time and was pregnant at the time, only remember it as being ok. mainly because i was proper fed ul being pregnant at the time

Outnumb3red · 25/08/2018 14:13

Guys in the merchant city is excellent. Not Chinese or Indians. They do a great 'Glasgow tapas' dish

Finlaggan · 26/08/2018 14:21

You could always check out Platform at Argyle street arches. It changes every couple of weeks so no guarantees. Or check out The Big Feed which is out of town but accessible by underground. Otherwise you would be stuck with one of the works buffet type places.
