Has anyone experience of Miller Homes (or another) part exchange?

Seen a property I might like using this. I'm a bit wary though; how much under market value are they likely to offer? Is there still opportunity to haggle?

Is it as easy a process as they make out?

Trying a bump

We part-exchanged our old house against a Charles Church new build. They offered us around market value for the house, and when I checked on Zoopla afterwards, they actually lost £2,500 between the price they gave us and what they sold it for. We had an intermediary negotiate with the developer on our behalf. He also negotiated on the extras included in the new house as part of the whole deal. Our experience was entirely positive and I would definitely do it again.

We had the same experience as Coxwell but with a different builder. Two estate agents did valuations and came up with the same value, which was £500 more than an independent valuation we had done a couple of months previously. The builders bought our house and then we stayed put until our new house was complete. The worst bit was keeping it tidy to facilitate the viewings Grin. Looking on Zoopla showed that it sold for £7k under the amount they gave us.

That's really positive. This house is already up, it's a very good deal on the last property in a new development, so potentially not even any viewers! Could be done and in within a month apparently.

I was worried they would take the piss with the value of ours.

Another positive one here albeit nearly 18 years ago and with Bovis. Reasonable price, maybe 3-5% under our asking, and the whole process was easy, convenient and stress-free.

I'm really pleased everyone has been so positive.

Thank you all.

Our part ex offer was a bit below market rate and we weren’t happy. We negotiated that if it sold before completion we would split anything above he part-ex offer 50/50 with the developer. It sold within four days and we out share of the extra was enough to pay our stamp duty. Smile
