If you have an iPhone 7 Plus..

Do you like it?

I really want a better camera and have managed to get a decently low contract (I'm on maternity) through some blagging but didn't realise it's size!

Have an SE now so it's size that's the main query. Made a mock up though and doesn't seem to bad though paper has no weight!

Or is the 7 good enough? Dh has one and the pics are better but I do like to play with cameras, Macro and the zoom sounds handy.

If I were v rich I'd go for the newer ones!

Er - why not buy an actual camera if you are interested in photography? they are a lot cheaper than an iPhone, you will have far more control over your pictures and don't cost a penny to run (bar charging).

witchmountain · 25/08/2018 08:10

Yes. I thought the size might be a problem but I got used to it really quickly. My logic was that even the next size down is hard to get into pockets so it wouldn’t make much difference and that has been the case.

piggywiggywoowoo · 25/08/2018 08:11

Yes I love mine, camera is fab! :)

IsTheRainEverComingBack · 25/08/2018 08:12

I have an 8 plus and the size is fine. Yes it’s big but it becomes normal very quickly. The battery life is much better than the smaller models, that’s what really sold it to me and it makes such a difference.

witchmountain · 25/08/2018 08:14

Because it’s easier to have it all in one!

Obviously not the same as an SLR or ‘proper’ camera but you can still do a lot with it and unless you are going on dedicated photography trips then you will never have a proper camera with you.

I also think there’s something about seeing what you can do with a phone camera. Like lots of art, the restrictions or limitations add something rather than take it away.

EsmeMargaretNoteSpelling · 25/08/2018 08:18

I love it. I can’t bear other people’s phones now as they are so tiddly!

pachiano1 · 25/08/2018 08:32

Go for an iPhone X - better camera, no huge phone!

beetleinasock · 25/08/2018 08:57

Ifailed, I do have a good camera too which I like playing with when I have time and space but have a tiny huge baby and a 5 yr old and it's more for that going out n about ease of lugging things around. i can also use an iPhone for accessing work things as we use iPads at work (teacher); possibly also for work. Some of me thinks the larger screen may be useful for this as I have Microsoft 360. On the hop planning.

@pachiano1 ah didn't realise that. But unsure if I can get such a good deal on one of those!

The x sounds great however on a contract it's going to be over twice what the 7 plus will be.

Thanks for replies, thankfully I can return if I hate it!

I had the same concern when I went into Apple Shop but wanted the higher specs. As I deliberated the sales man gave me his personal 7plus to put in my bag (where I intended to keep it). It was fine and not heavy. I am so pleased I bought the bigger one. You can do far more with it than the smaller one and is so much easier to read and look at photos. Enjoy Smile

I’ve just upgraded from a 7 plus to an 8 plus. I was given the choice of an X or 8 plus (work phone) but chose the plus as I like the bigger size.
It’s not much heavier than my daughters 7.

beetleinasock · 21/09/2018 10:35

Hello, so I've had it a few days now - one handed typing is tricky! (While bf!)

Did your hand adjust?! I'm finding fb typing and mn typing hard but maybe it'll stop my over use!

OP posts:
PrimalLass · 21/09/2018 10:36

I wouldn't go back to a smaller phone now.

DaisyDreaming · 21/09/2018 10:51

As a phone I preferred my 7 but find I use my iPad much less since switching to the 7 plus and can get work done on it. I always used one hand on the 7 though and have to use 2 for the plus. I’ve taken good photos on both, both suffer with iPhone flare at times though which is really annoying

BlessedBeTheFruitCake · 21/09/2018 10:57

Have you enabled one hand keyboard?
That might help with the typing whilst feeling. There's also a setting called reachability I think in the accessibility settings that migjt help. Please ignore if you've done that already.

MrsMogginsMinge · 21/09/2018 11:02

Get a Popsocket - much more ergonomic

beetleinasock · 21/09/2018 11:09

Ohh one handed keyboard didn't know that!

OP posts:
beetleinasock · 21/09/2018 11:09

Yes I prefer for work, except on mat leave at mo!

OP posts:
beetleinasock · 21/09/2018 12:03

What's iPhone flare?

OP posts:
beetleinasock · 21/09/2018 12:14

Ok pop socket looks really useful!

Interested in this thread!
OH has just upgraded to the new iPhone so his old iPhone 7 Plus is going spare.
I currently have the iPhone 6s... debating whether or not to have his one!
It's purely the size that puts me off... I have small hands!
