Places to eat in Chester

Looking for somewhere to take my in laws when we go to Chester. Does anyone have anywhere they can recommend please?

Think they'd prefer a pub food type place and one of the group is gluten free. There must be loads of places but can't seem to find one.

Very grateful for any suggestions.

We love The Boathouse. Just on the edge of the city centre

Thank you Roose That does look nice, I'll have a closer look at that one. Smile

Should add, for anyone else, I don't mind going to the outskirts of Chester too.

I feel hungry now.

The Boathouse down by the river on The Groves is lovely. It has a floating beer garden and some cute little beach huts outside. Nice pub food and the menu mentions GF options are available on requests

If you want Italian go To Last Fattoria as it's great.
Pub type places .... both the Brewery Tap and the Brewhouse are great

Upstairs at the grill!!!! It is amazing. Incredible gin bar, phenomenal service and fantastic food. One of the best places I’ve eaten in the whole world!

The Old Harkers Arms

nearby Chester Train Station, on the canal side, afterwards walk the canal side to Tescos to get on Chester Wall besides the Cathedral. Walk the Walls to the old Dee Bridge, have a drink at The Bear & Billet, the stop off at the Clock Tower for a photo! Then short bus back to Chester Station.
