Possibly the most honest 'mummy blog post' I have come across...

Here

Fair play to her, I say. I've often considered doing a blog myself, thinking it would be fun and pretty easy, but had no idea about all the crap that goes behind it. Sounds like I'm well out of it! I wonder how many of the others (and the fashionista/skincare/beauty bloggers) secretly feel the same?

Link?

Oh sorry my phone was hiding it for some reason 😬 will have a read, thanks OP!

I always think it's odd (and wrong) to use your children to support your career. SM compromises their privacy and I bet a lot of these kids, whose parents pimp out their childhood to blogs and vlogs, will grow up and wish this info wasn't 'out there' or say they are not accurate representations of their actual childhood.

I don't 'know' her, but I'm glad she's wised up. It's taking people time to catch up with the very fast moving social media world - it's gotten ahead of us and I hope people are now beginning to think about whether they really want to share all this private information.

So she decided to quite blogging, by writing a blog post?

NellieBee · 25/08/2018 01:03

I don't know her but that's quite a dramatic goodbye! I could never do it.The endless hashtags would do me in!

GloGirl · 25/08/2018 01:05

Well really, she's reached a new chapter in her life - and she's turning round and burning the house behind her as she leaves.

I think it's slightly cruel to imply that it's commercial and without merit when I think her real problem is that she wished she could have been better at it.

Shes not writing that blog for lots of women who find consolation in reading and thinking "Oh god, glad it's not just me" and I haven't followed her but think it does a disservice to those who have.

Attention seeking! Just quietly go if you're going

MozzieMagnet · 25/08/2018 01:34

Don't know the woman, don't know the blog but she seems nice enough and says in it she wanted to do a last one so people wouldn't think she'd offed herself, being depressed an' all. Which is fair enough.
Certainly no worse than people on here saying I'm offski rather than posting directly on Flouncers' Corner Wink

stabilo88 · 25/08/2018 10:43

To be fair, @MidniteScribbler, she does explain why she’s done that.

Interesting point, @PoliticalBiscuit, I hadn’t thought about it like that. I suppose if she had been better at it. then she would be continuing with it..?

That gave me goosebumps. Good on her. I'm feeling this way about Instagram and 'following' some of the 'cream of the crop' as she puts it. Nearly every post I read these days makes me absolutely cringe. They are so obviously desperate..to be 'liked', to be 'followed', for fucking book deals, for money..that they'll sell their souls for it. Worse still, they're selling out their poor kids for it.
