...Virgin Media!
Virgin customer for years. Every time I try to leave, they suck me back in with a discounted deal (because I'm clueless about the alternatives, and what tech is available...and I'm lazy, my fault
).
We currently have Virgin's basic package on TV and phone, with some kind of whizzy WiFi via a Superhub 3, also a TiVo. Will be paying £59 a month for the privilege soon.
Could anyone in the know please advise where/how I could achieve my essentials more cheaply:
- Fast WiFi that copes with lots of devices and kids using it at once. We don't work from home, it's just 5 people using it for streaming and browsing. Kids sometimes using two devices at once
- Basic TV channels. Not interested in sports or latest movies.
- An ability to record programmes and watch them later.
- We don't use the home phone.
Can I achieve this with just a WiFi package, then buy a set-top box or something for recording TV programmes? Do I have to have a landline?
Sorry to sound dense - I really am when it comes to this.
