What to pack for Eurocamp/Canvas tent holiday?

I'm packing today, to leave at 4.30am tomorrow Shock so want to make sure I've thought of everything. We are going to the Loire Valley in a tent with Canvas Holidays, so they already supply kitchen stuff + tent etc!

So far I have thought of:

  • Passport, tickets, insurance docs, breakdown docs
  • Clothes for us all - including rain coats, tight swimmers for the boys as no loose trunks allowed, crocs for all.
  • Toiletries & first aid kit, including insect repellent, sun cream, bite cream
  • Bedding - pillow & blankets supplied, will take sleeping bags for boys, sheet & pillowcases for me & DH.
  • Shower towels each plus 1 swimming towel each.
  • Adaptor plugs
  • Toilet roll
  • European driving kit

Anything else?

Have you stayed with them before? My priority items would be

  • your own pillows (theirs are really flat!)
  • extra towels
  • an extra bathmat
  • decent kitchen knives
  • two proper mugs
  • two or three teatowels
  • cloths and green scrubs
  • clothes pegs
  • spare chopping board

They do theoretically come with everything you need, but it’s not really adequate.

We have, but not in a tent with the DC. Good ideas there thanks.

Ah maybe you won’t need the bathmat if you’re not in a mobile home. The main battle we had was getting pool towels dry when it rained, and keeping the floors from turning really dirty, having a good bathmat would have helped the floor. Do they supply a clothes horse? Do you have anything similar you could pack? I found one clothes horse wasn’t enough for four wet pool towels, costumes, wet bath towels and raincoats.

I have a length of clothes line plus pegs, so hopefully there will be a handy tree to tie it to.
