Dreading work today

I've got my second KIT day today, I'm dreading it. I went in last week and was just shoved wherever to cover staffing gaps. I know the same thing will happen this week. My LO is going to the nursery attached, they forgot to give her medicine last week. She's only 5 months old and I'm just feel so guilty about her going when she doesn't need to.
Can I cancel the KIT days last minute? I've been up all night worrying.

I can't see any reason why not. Just call in sick?

WipsGlitter · 24/08/2018 05:37

I never bothered with KIT days.

KIT days aren't supposed to be for you to do actual work and cover peoples shifts! They're for you to catch up with people, see what's been going on and prepare you as best as possible for your return.

Call in sick...

CryptoFascist · 24/08/2018 06:25

Yeah I wouldn't bother, they aren't obligatory.

You don't have to do KIT days. I wouldn't even call in sick, I would just tell them you don't see the benefit to do them as they're not doing them properly. KIT stands for keep in touch days. They're not for working!
