Separated/divorced etc, what to do with wedding photos

Exactly that really.
I'm just sorting through some bits at home and not sure if I should keep my wedding photos and other photos of me with the ex or not?

Do you have children together? Attic maybe?
I know my DD was really happy to see photos of me & her dad together (she has issues about our separation)

Do you have kids with your ex? If you do I would keep them.
My grandma gave me her wedding album before she died. It was from her first wedding to her ex husband (my bio Grandad). My mum and I both like to look through it from time to time. She looked so beautiful.
My husband has kept his pictures from his wedding to his ex wife. It doesn't mean anything to him but it might be nice for his children to look at when they're older.

Yes we have a child together, that was what stopped me from getting rid of them so far.

Select a few to keep for the DC and get rid of rest

I kept them until my eldest was in her twenties and then gave to her, it’s all photographs of her relatives, sadly many have since died

Chasingsquirrels · 24/08/2018 07:47

Mine are in the cupboard with other photos, almost never looked at (marriage ended 10 years ago). I want them for me, it's part of my history.

SheSparkles · 24/08/2018 07:50

I kept mine because my mum had made the dresses for me and the bridesmaids, amd there were photos of my grandparents who died not long after the wedding. My ex and I didn’t split on particularly bad terms so that probably helped. I gave the photos of my ex’s family to his mum, and she was glad to have them

I am going through this and am keeping mine. In fact I don’t plan on taking the ones that are part of an arrangement of photos on top of a cabinet down straight away.

They aren’t huge, maybe 4” square in a collection of silver frames. They won’t be on the front row but I think that DD would be upset if I removed everything when DH leaves.

LatteLover12 · 24/08/2018 07:56

Mine have gone into the loft at my mum’s house.

LooksBetterWithAFilter · 24/08/2018 07:58

Kept mine for the dc and have kept the photos of their dad that were taken when they were small with or without them in it. It’s nice for them to look back and see what we all looked like and some family that are no longer with us.

DaphneBlake101 · 25/08/2018 00:06

Keep them - I have my mum and dad's wedding photos despite not having any relationship with my dad. My mum always tells me that I was very wanted and when I was born, they were in love - it's nice to have photographic proof of that since I don't remember them together or have any nice memories of him.

MintyT · 26/08/2018 08:10

I kept mine, I want to have a look at them now, we are no longer together but we're happy for a long time but I can't remember where they are.
