I hate them. The gangly, hairy fuckers. I keep spotting them - not the little ones that just piss about, the big fat bastards that you can hear scutter across the floor. I'm on edge!!

The cat and the dog do nothing. Traitors.

One ran across the floor this eve and a pint glass wouldn't fit over it.

Apart from burning my house down, does anyone have any spider repellent ideas that are okay to use with pets and a baby?

I quite like them, especially the big ones. You know they’ve seen some stuff to get to that size.
I picked up a cup one of the kids left out this morning and it had a little boy spider in there, so kicked him out to find a girlfriend.
Autumns kicked in early this year

After reading this spread I've just sprayed peppermint oil in every crack, doorway and window sill lol.

Yep yep, peppermint oil is being delivered by Amazon tomorrow.
I want to die just from seeing these photos.

I know people will pitch in to tell me I'm an absolutely inhumane horrible bastard but I genuinely can't cope. Just the sight of one has me hyperventilating and thats the tiny ones, the big ones I panick so much I actually feel faint. If I see one and "lose it" under the couch or whatever I cannot sleep.

I know this is totally abhorrent, but I hairspray them. It stops them being able to move when it hardens so i can get close enough with an extendable mop type thing and squish them. It's literally the only way I can bear to do it. I always dread September every year because that's the worst time for them.

Before the hairspray discovery I've literally been known to phone a chippy and have the delivery driver kindly put it outside for me!

Do they not like peppermint oil?

sirlee66 · 25/08/2018 16:24

Beefy That's not a spider, that's Aragog from Harry Potter!!!

Thom I don't blame you! Didn't know about the hairspray trick!!!

Do you think putting peppermint oil in a humidifier at night would work just aswell as spraying it around?
