Everything has been washed, folded and put away

3 adults and 2 children in the household.

Won't last long I bet but still I can breathe a sigh of relief for now

Well, it's been seven minutes since you posted. I bet if you go back to check there will be, at minimum, a single sock in the basket by now.

me too! House is spotless, laundry all done, dinner on stove waiting to be cooked. Everyone is asleep. 5 minutes of being up, and it will be back to normal....

My flat is also spotless. We were meant to have a viewing at 5 but they cancelled at 4.20 after I spent the day cleaning.

This is why I never attempt to get to the bottom of the basket. It's just thumbing your nose that the universe, and it will retaliate. Plus, I have a couple of things that have been lurking in there for ages and will probably never get washed because they are awkward, wrong colour to go with other stuff or a tricky fabric or a complete nightmare to iron.

I need someone to come and wave their magic wand in this house - any takers?

There will be a pair of dirty knickers lying somewhere, that the dog/cat will drag through the room, just as a posh guest sits down for coffee. 😁
