Obviously there’s been a lot of flies about due to the hot weather, and I’ve had my fair share in the house over the last few weeks due to having some building work done and doors being open etc.

Last week, I took the dog bed apart to wash it and discovered the little sod had buried a bone in there and it was crawling with maggots (if there was a vomiting emoji, I would enter it here!). Cleared them all up and pulled out all the furniture, hoovered, mopped, disinfectant spray etc everywhere. Thought it was sorted.

A couple of days later, I found what looked like a few grains of dark rice on the kitchen floor. Discovered they are fly pulpae so cleaned everywhere again and added a liberal spray of fly killer all around the edges of the kitchen etc.

I’m now killing numerous flies every day and it’s really stressing me out they just appear from seemingly nowhere and, no matter how much I clean, I can’t seem to find the source. Clearly, they are hatching somewhere and it’s making me feel quite sick. Just been out shopping and come back to 15 of the buggers in my kitchen!

What’s mithering me is that we’re away on holiday next week and I have visions of coming back to a house full of them. Is there anything I can put down or spray or something that will kill any unhatched flies? Like a flea bomb type thing? Are these dangly fly papers any good? I’m literally wanting to move out at the minute! Just wish I could work out where they are hiding :(

Thanks!
