Late and confused

My period is a week late, on day 36 of my normally 28 day cycle. I had some blood when I wiped on day 21 and day 25. Have been having normal period “symptoms” nothing unusual except my period hasn’t turned up. Have taken a First Vue stick test which was negative but the strip did fall off.

Not really sure what I’m looking for in terms of answers but wanted to get it out as I’m a little worried.

So you've taken a pregnancy test and it didn't work properly?

Urm I would get another test.

That would be the simplest solution but I don’t know whether to wait another few days to try again.

You would think I had never been through this before🙈.

Now on day 38, took a clear blue test today and it’s come back negative.

Do I wait longer and test again or do I visit the doctor?

I’ve just had a six week gap between periods when normally it’s bang on every four weeks. Not ttc, no contraceptive mishaps. Sometimes it happens. Not sure why though.

We aren’t actively TTC but we aren’t be careful. I’m hoping if I leave it until next week we might get a +.

Also I’ve had blood when wiping on two separate occasions which I’ve not had before. It didnt require a pad.

Wait a while longer and try again, it took 5 weeks until I got a positive
