Watching a prison drama. If you are on remand and escape from prison and then it is proved that you did not commit the crime you are on remand for. You are then captured.

Would you be released straight away or would you be kept in prison for committing the crime of escaping?

@CadleCrap you would not be charged for the previous crime however you would be arrested and charged for escaping and would probably face more jail time or at best a suspended sentence. It would likely be different if you were wrongly released - you may get away with it (this has happened before and the bloke was not sentenced).

Thanks Sussex . The prisoner in this drama was just let off. I should really learn to suspend reality when watching crappy dramas.

I was only thinking of something similar yesterday. A father and Daughter were jailed in the USA. The daughter got 4 years extra put on her sentence due to rule breaking in prison. Both of them are appealing their sentences. I wonder if they are sucessful will she still have to serve the four years.

Haha! I used to work in a prison very unlikely they'd be let off! Escaping from prison is a huge deal (and thankfully extremely rare!)

My dad is in medicine. I had to remind him when watching Dr Foster that IT'S NOT REAL! I have to do the same when watching OITNB...

Peisoners seem to get an amazing amount of time unsupervised.

They also all have hoodies, so can’t be identified via CCTV. Pretty poor management!

CCTV? 🤣 Aaaah CCTV would've been lovely...

In this drama all they do is reposition it with brooms so it seems to be pretty useless when trying to solve the crime so that the criminals commit,, but the guards don’t seem to be clever enough to reposition out when they do wrong.

So how much shagging does actually go on between guards and prisoners?

Many UK prisons don't have CCTV...

Oh god, so rare. I never came across it. I know of one woman who was sacked for it in another prison, it was all over the news, but other than that I've never personally heard of it happening...

Love this show, but yes I have wondered about Frankie as well, didn't like how that story just abruptly stopped with no follow up.

@MichonnesBBF Busted! I’ve binge watched it from series 1. I really enjoyed the first 5 series, but Season 6 is a bit of a let down. Too many new characters and I can’t warm to Kaz.

So someone would be punished for escaping from a prison they shouldn’t have even been in in the first place? That doesn’t seem right at all!

Well, the A Team were permanently on the run after escaping from jail where they had been send "for a crime they didn't commit"

yeah I must admit the first few seasons were very edge of the seat watching, I do think its gone a bit off track a little now still love it though and hope it heads in the right direction again soon.
