I had bloods done for ovarian cancer which came back with raised levels
Today I'm having a scan
My GP told me she couldn't feel anything but in her referral letter she's said she can

I am absolutely terrified, I feel sick, I'm scared

Thank you if you're reading x

Thinking of you OP. Nothing's certain yet. And investigations are underway Flowers

Try the Headspace app for some medications and breathing exercises to help keep calm.

MozzchopsThirty · 23/08/2018 10:13

I have so much to do and I'm just sat here crying

Do you think you'll get the results today?

I know MRI scans the Dr has to write the results up first so you don't get them immediately. Might be different for this.

Try and stay calm. I have so many medical procedures, tests, operations etc and still get worked up but things always seem easier if you go in with a cool head and positive thinking. I think you'll feel more relaxed and be able to deal with the outcome better. Which ever way it goes.

Easier said than done I know. Just try distraction techniques this am. Put some music on or an audio book and get through as best you can Thanks

Hey @MozzchopsThirty thinking of you and wanted you to know there's somebody here when you get your results

OneInAMillionYou · 23/08/2018 15:51

I'm surprised to hear you will get the results immediately.

I didn't when I had a similar scan as MRIs are carried out by radiographers, and your own doctor isn't normally there. I had to wait until my consultant appointment the following week. All clear, thankfully, and I wish the same outcome for you.

Thinking of you as well. 💐

Aprilshowersinaugust · 23/08/2018 16:19

Hope all is well op. I remember having a scan to check my ovary when they suspected a cyst....
Found I was 14 weeks pregnant!

TheHobbitMum · 23/08/2018 16:25

Hope all is well OP Flowers

MozzchopsThirty · 23/08/2018 18:47

Thank you so much
Scan went well, he couldn't see any mass. He couldn't find my right ovary, or wasn't 100% confident where it was

He suggested a trans vaginal scan on the nhs and repeat of bloods

He was very thorough, aorta, kidneys, liver, spleen and uterus and one ovary deffo clear 😊

OP posts:
MeyMary · 23/08/2018 18:51

Oh, that's great news!! So there's one ovary left to check but it currently seems like you're in good health? 👍🎉🎉

TheHobbitMum · 23/08/2018 19:06

Fantastic news OP! So pleased for you Grin All in all it seems like good news? Get the full check up will put your mind at ease but sounds good today

QueenieMum · 23/08/2018 20:30

That seems promising, hope you're feeling ok now

Lauren83 · 23/08/2018 20:41

Was it your CA125? I had a few high readings and scan that showed no Doppler flow so they did an MRI and decided it was just my endometriosis elevating the levels

bangourvillagebesttimeever · 23/08/2018 23:02

Great news. My Sister had raised levels and her GP told her she was 99% sure she had cancer. Terrifying and she didn't thankfully, just endometriosis and a benign cyst!

Pavlova31 · 23/08/2018 23:27

Great news Op !!
