Children inheriting all good, all bad or combination of genes

I love my children dearly and am grateful that they are both healthy. So, not a serious post. But do you look at your children and think they have inherited all your best bits, or all your worst bits, or is it really a combination of both?

I think my kids have both mine and dh bad genes and none of our good ones.

Examples
I have thick (easy to style) hair, while dh has thin (can’t be styled) hair. kids have his hair.
I am short sighted and need glasses, dh has 20/20 vision. Kids are short sighted.
We’re both quite artistic but kids drawings are quite frankly rubbish lol
I could go on but don’t want to out myself.

Well our son although similar to me facially is a carbon copy of his dad's (and FIL) body. DH is 6' 2" with long arms and legs and at 12 DS is already taller than me by quite a bit (I am 5' 5").

DD 2 is 15 and 5' 9" and she doesn't like being tall but I think she looks fab.

But DD #1 is shorter than me although she's the eldest! DD 2 is often mistaken as our eldest child.

So my girls get on great but clearly inherited different height genes. They all are brunettes with blue eyes like their dad. I am blonde. I am an extrovert and so are the girls. Son is an introvert like his dad.

DD2 is a procrastinator like me who rushes around at the last minute Grin I have tried to take myself in hand over the years!
