Has anyone been following the #wedeservebetter campaign in NI over the last month or so? For anyone who doesn’t know, the we deserve better campaign was started because NI is about to beat belgiums world record for going the longest without a government in peacetime (541 days- technically we don’t “win” the title because-Westminster) the campaign was aiming to call our “leaders” to step the fuck back up and do their jobs. Maybe not in those words exactly 
I had planned to attend the event in Belfast on Tuesday, however I have just found out about this
It would appear that we don’t all deserve better. Apparently my right to bodily autonomy is too divisive to discuss. As is the right to get married to a same sex person. 
I am absolutely livid. How the hell can we even begin to get this country functioning if those attempting to kickstart the process are shying away from mentioning such hugely important issues? These aren’t afterthoughts to be dealt with when things are working again, these are crucial to the actual process. It lives or dies on these issues. How can they not be part of the wedeservebetter campaign?? They are what we deserve better for!!
Also worth mentioning that the gofund me for the campaign has been stopped and all money will be refunded.
Is there any actual point in having these events on Tuesday? What will they discuss? The weather?
