Just wondering if anyone had any creative or previously successful party ideas for a 30th. My absolutely lovely DH has asked for a gathering with our families and close friends (probably around 40-50 people) and said he fancied a function room in a nice pub somewhere. Our budget isn't huge and I've become a little bit unstuck on how to make sure it doesn't turn into load of people milling around, stuck in endless small-talk with a sad buffet in the corner. For context, DH is a quiet, introverted sort who adores all things car and film. He doesn't really like sport (apart from rugby) and most certainly isn't into dress-up/stag style lad banter.
