Anyone seen The Meg at the cinema?

My nearly 9 yr old is desperate to see it ,Is it suitable ?

If he/she isn’t worried by a few surprises ( ie sharks jumping up) and is generally not a worried nine year old I would. Saw it last week- dialogue terrible, plot cliched but DH and I were entertained for 1 and a half hours!!
No gore to speak of, no terrible language or sex scenes.
And all ends well.
I’d do it!

DH took DS (9) last week, it's not very gory, there are some good tense bits, I think it was scary enough for DS but not too much. He hasn't had any nightmares...

It's his obsession at the moment a megaladon...as as long as it dosnt die at the end ,all will be fine...

Shark movies are my total weakness - the more ridiculous the plot, the better.

I am tempted to see this. Not sure about taking DC.

Ah well when I said it all ends happily, it’s more for the people. Less happy for the sharks unfortunately!

I saw it with my 9 year old and he liked it. He was scared, but in a knowing-it-was-all-fake enjoyable way. And yes the dialogue is pants and the plot is ridiculous BUT it was so much fun There's a number of Chinese characters and strong female characters which is pretty refreshing for a crap action film. Not much gore and nothing that's too inappropriate for that age as long as they're not really nervous or jumpy.

Well we went and saw it on Saturday,brilliant film..loved the strong female lead...we need more of that in the movies..if you are thinking about going ...
definitely go and see it ,you won't be disappointed
