How can I stop my hair going all 'poofy'

Ok, be gentle. Total hair/make up novice here Blush

Last week I cut my very long hair into a jaw length bob. I'm still getting used to it! My hair is very, very thick. Once I blow dry it, I straighten it with GHDs. Looks very sleek and classy.

I then go outside, and poof! It seems to explode into an unruly, thick, uncontrollable mess! (Possible moisture in the air? It gets really bad if it's a bit drizzly outside?!)

Can you recommend something to stop this happening and to maintain the 'sleek' look?

John Freida 3 day straight. Without it I look like Monica from Friends in Barbados!

Use conditioner but no shampoo

Thanks both.

Will the lack of shampoo not leave my hair greasy?

Hairspray works aswell
Agree with the 3 day straight - they also do a shampoo and conditioner

Glossing spray
Or salt spray/beach hair stuff.

the previous weight will have held it down. new ghds arent as hot as old ones and while better for hair, the straightening wont last for us fuzzy types.

look into wella straight or loreal xtenso. done competently it lasts a year and you will laugh at humidity. stay dry for the first week though.

Leave in conditioner eg Charles Worthington in the orange bottle or Toni and Guy & serum (any will do) will help

Hair spray or styling mouse

Colour wow Dreamcoat, it will leave your hair sleek and shiny for days, it's pricey but definitely worth it.

Check out Superdrug who did have 7 day straight Tresemme box sets of shampoo, conditioner and serum for £5. It suits my hair which isn't thick but does curl out at the hint of damp or humidity.

Hair oil will act as barrier and hair shaft will not absorb moisture

My hair isn't greasy without shampoo, just much less frizzy. I do shampoo occasionally ( monthly?). I have heard that some people find it takes a while ( i.e. Weeks ) for their scalp to adjust, so you might want to try it on a time it doesn't matter to see how your head and hair react.
