Poorly Dove

Hello, I was wondering if anyone here is an expert on doves! Yesterday I found a small dove which I thought was sick in the middle of my path, it let me stroke it, I saw it had no visible injuries, then it flew away. Today it was back again, my three year old daughter found it and was fussing over it, I picked it up (to be honest if I hadn't it was at risk of being popped in her dolly pram!) The dove looked very poorly, it had poo around it bottom area and was very 'droopy'. I put it in a shallow dish with a jam jar lid of water and lid of seed and put the dish in a tree, expecting it to die to be honest. I have just been to see it and it has perked up and flown away again over the houses!

If it arrives in my garden again has anyone got any advise of what is best to do to help it?

I know it’s a type of pigeon, thanks to the thread below.

Pigeons are feisty so leave it to be.
