What does your vagina smell like?

Was the question I’ve just been asked by a random man on the street Hmm

He looked a bit lost and appeared to be looking for street names when he said “excuse me lovely” to me perfectly pleasantly, so I stopped expecting him to ask for directions to somewhere but nope, I got ‘what does your vagina smell like?’

What the actual fuck is wrong with people?!

Hmm

ShockWhat did you do/say?

I would hope I would say something like 'Piss off you pervy fucker', but I'd probably be so shocked I wouldn't say anything.

TeaAndNoSympathy · 22/08/2018 14:16

WTF is wrong with some people?

Are you OK OP? That would have unsettled me.

Chuggachuggatoottoot · 22/08/2018 14:16

Yuk!

Helpmeyouyetti · 22/08/2018 14:18

GrinGrin sorry.
I would have laughed from being so shocked I think.

WilburIsSomePig · 22/08/2018 14:18

I actually don't know how I would react to that. I really think I might whack someone who said that you me. Hope you're ok OP.

FuckyDuzz · 22/08/2018 14:25

I really wish I’d have told him to fuck off or something but I just kind of looked a bit horrified and said ‘eurgh’ then walked away

It did unsettle me a bit but not till afterwards really then I really wanted to just get home as quickly as possible
I was pushing 2 of my DC in a pram too (thankfully the 2 that are too young to know what he said!)
Fucking weirdo

You will never know you dippy fucker.......

Hazardswan · 22/08/2018 14:30

I think I would have reacted the same way OP.

MayFayner · 22/08/2018 14:33

Hope you’re ok OP.

You’ve crossed paths with a sad little life there.

KellyBailey · 22/08/2018 14:34

I know this is a MN cliche but if you can remember a clear description of him I would consider calling 101 to report this incident and see if there was CCTV. Might be he is wanted for other crimes such as flashing etc or could escalate his creepy behaviour in future once just saying pervy shit stops getting him off.

9amTrain · 22/08/2018 14:34

What the fuck?

Heremeout · 22/08/2018 14:36

Nutter!!!!!!

December2018 · 22/08/2018 14:39

What the actual fuckery!!

Some people shouldn't be let out the house
Yeah I think I would have been quite shaken by that to be honest... and to say that to anyone is fucked up... never mind a woman with her kids!

I hope one day somebody asks him
"What do your bollocks smell like"
See what he says... I bet he Dosent find it funny!

Omgineedanamechange · 22/08/2018 14:41

I’d have said “no idea, but I can smell your desperation from here” and stalked off

HolyMountain · 22/08/2018 14:46

What a creepy twat, I’d have the intention of letting the police know but don’t know if I’d bother them once I’d got home. It’s possible that sexual abusers do start by testing the ground with low level offences like this.

Haquina · 22/08/2018 14:47

I'm a bit cross that I didn't hear all of the item on Radio 5 yesterday or Monday, so I can't be clear, but WRT

A woman who rang in had been the victim of a sexual assault that was both verbal and physical. It started with a man stopping her to ask for directions and as she was explaining I think she said he ran his hands the length of her body and came out with a stream of obscene comments towards her. She was obviously very shaken as again, it seemed to come out of nowhere.

She did contact the police and the man was caught and charged because he'd previously been reported and his behaviour was escalating.

HolyMountain · 22/08/2018 14:50

*offender is a better description.

Butterymuffin · 22/08/2018 14:54

Easy with hindsight but I'd like to have said 'dunno, what does yours smell like?'

I agree with reporting it. Might help someone else.

LastOneDancing · 22/08/2018 14:55

That's one of those situations where you think of 100 things to say after the event.

They want a reaction.
I wonder what would happen if you just stopped still and stared at them?

InTheRoseGarden · 22/08/2018 15:05

I would report this too. It shouldn’t make a difference but the fact that you were with your children is so horrible.

AbsentmindedWoman · 22/08/2018 15:07

Ugh, what a dickhead.

It's such an odd thing to do and say though - it's different to 'standard' catcalling like shouting "nice tits!" however depressing that may be.

It's sinister because it seems genuinely intended to cause shock and humiliation - or else he's unwell, and something's going on to lower his inhibitions so he's speaking outside accepted norms.

AbsentmindedWoman · 22/08/2018 15:07

Definitely report as previous posters have advised.

sourpatchkid · 22/08/2018 15:08

I'd report too, these pricks get away with too much

AbsentmindedWoman · 22/08/2018 15:09

Sorry, my post isn't clear enough, I meant that catcalling is offensive and depressing enough anyway even when it's 'just' stuff like "nice tits" but it's still unacceptable.

But what this man said to you seems different to that, somehow.

ToadOfSadness · 22/08/2018 15:11

I would suggest replying with
'Could you repeat that really loudly because I am a bit deaf?'
