We are going on Friday, thinking of leaving home at 5am and we should get there by 8am. We couldn't pre book tickets this year as DH only got told he could have Friday off this morning.

Has anyone got any tips? Will getting there at 8am to join the traffic queue be long enough? There will be me, DH and dd 2.5.

The site is enormous. I've got relatives a few miles away and drove past the site last weekend and it was already getting busy. We almost went last year (dc would have been 4 and 2) but chickened out because of size and buggy refusing dc2.

I've looked at the aerial photos! It is huge! Luckily there isn't anything in particular we want to see, just happy to go and see what we find!

You can normally buy tickets from local tourist information centres Blandford / Dorchester etc. to avoid queuing.

You may be early enough to avoid the traffic, and depending where you’re coming from, go A30 and cut down just before Shaftesbury rather than A354.

If your DC are young consider taking ear defenders / ear plugs.

Have fun!
