Ouch! My face hurts so much, sinus inf?!

Ive had a stinker of a head cold. But last 36 hours one side of my face, all along cheekbone has started to really hurt. More so than the usual blocked sinus pain.Couldn’t sleep last night with it. Of course I’m away so can’t nip to GP, will be home later today. Am taking pain killers but not helping. Just having a moan really, it is SO BLOOMIN’ SORE!!
Any tips on how to relieve it would be gratefully received. Or just a sympathetic pat on the head.

You can get sinus medication over the counter at the pharmacy. It does sound similar to a sinus infection.

You can do steam inhalations and nasal washes. Google sinusitis NHS website. Had it for 3 wks now, it's miserable.

Thank you, was googling myself there and am have my head stuck over a bowl of steaming Vicks as we speak Grin.
My whole eye socket, eye etc hurts.
Will nip to pharmacy this am too and get whatever they suggest. LuckyNumberThree I do not envy you three weeks of this! Are you prone to it?

Urgh poor you. I've had sinusitis a couple of times and its so so painful. I was given antibiotics for one episode when I had thick green stuff permanently leaving my faceEnvy so it may be worth a trip to the GP when you're home. Hope you improve soonThanks

I ended up with antibiotics for sinusitis. Worst pain I have ever felt, would genuinely take labour over sinusitis again. Can you get an appointment or to a pharmacy for OTC remedy?

Press your tongue to the roof of your mouth while also pressing the centre of your forehead. It helps drain your sinuses.

Nona that works! Every day is a learning day on mumsnet.

Suffered similar a month ago. I found a few facial massages for sinus problems on You Tube, one was brilliant. Involved tugging ear sharply upwards. Afraid cannot remember link...but try googling Qi Gong and sinus.
