Is it only me who doesn’t understand tax credits at all?

I feel like crying, and feel as thick as two short planks.

No! I can’t make head or tail of them, no matter how much I read the .gov site.

The last time I spoke to them I got a lovley chap who tried to explain things to me.

They make no sense to me at all. The whole “based on last year’s income” is ridiculous. Because if you ring them up today and say you’re now earning less than 4 weeks ago they will reasses your entitlement. So how is that based on last year??? If they’ve changed it based on current info?

I wouldn't know where to start but- if you need specific help- I'm sure there was an AMA by a tax credits advisor not long ago
