Worried rectal cancer?

NC
Do these few symptoms sound sinister?
No change in bowel habit. No blood.
4 weeks ago - about 5 days of shooting pain around anus and a bit around left hand side vagina entrance - on and off not persistent
Now for about a week I've got the feeling there is a lump sort of deep inside my anus. When I sit or slouch sit (e.g in bed just) feel like I'm sitting on a lump at back of anus - sort of an inch or 2 inside
No weight loss
Opinions?
WWYD?

I sometimes get pains like that during my period, maybe hormonal? Don't know about the lump though.

Post menopausal here

panicovernow · 21/08/2018 18:31

If you're feeling there is a lump there, it could be a haemorrhoid, it could be a polyp. You should go to your GP. They should examine you. They may refer you for a camera test, either a colonoscopy or flexible sigmoidoscopy, which doesn't go as far.
Definitely go to your GP though. Good luck Smile

Prolapse/Rectocele?

justforareply · 21/08/2018 18:36

So symptoms enough to justify GP? Not thought of rectocoele or prolapse!

handslikecowstits · 21/08/2018 18:38

WWYD?

Honestly? I wouldn't ask anyone online and I wouldn't google my symptoms because I'd drive myself bonkers. I've done this kind of thing before.

You need to see a doctor. It could be many things.

Sparklingbrook · 21/08/2018 18:39

The GP should be able to tell if there's a prolapse. The feeling you are sitting on something can be a symptom.

spiderlight · 21/08/2018 18:40

It might very well be piles. The shooting pains I've seen referred to on here as 'javelin arse' - can be caused by proctalgia fugax or levator ani syndrome. See your GP though - it could be any number of things but there's no point in worrying before you've been checked out.

Thank you all
I'll book to see Gp then

justforareply · 25/08/2018 15:47

I saw GP and it's a polyp
I'm on holiday now with DD and convinced that it will be bad when I get appointment for clinic (within 2 weeks)
I'm scared I won't be around for DC2 to reach adulthood
I know I'm totally catastrophising

birdladyfromhomealone · 25/08/2018 16:05

I just had mine removed and sent to histology.
it was painless but did have some bleeding for 3/4 days after.
They told me they are very rarely anything to worry about.
good luck
