Today I was diagnosed with guttate psoriasis, it started two days ago and now I'm covered in the itchiest painful spots, the GP gave me some antihistamines, is there anything else that helps. It began on my legs and now I have it on my back, arms, hands and face. Tell me your stories.

It does go eventually! I had it on my back, started in one area and spread from waistband to neck. I didn’t connect it to the earlier sore throat at all.

I think I had it for about 8 weeks in total, I can’t be certain as I’d had it a while before I went to the GP. Apparently sunshine helps, I used to sit outside in a sports bra for a little while each day (I had it in early spring). I also had baths in Dead Sea salts as that helped relieve the itching.

Get the dr to prescribe you Dovobet. It’s a pain to apply to all the individual spots but it’ll clear it up within a week. Don’t be fobbed off with moisturisers, they don’t do a thing! Speaking as someone who has had psoriasis for 15 years now.

Long time sufferer here too and never been prescribed antihistamines. I think they are for allergies?
It's awful when it's bad but a prescription of a vitamin D cream sorts it out in a few weeks.
Over the counter you could try the child's farm.moisturiser, dead sea salt and I think it's hyoxcil cream is a mild steroid - but check with the pharmacist

Thank you so much for all your kind words and advice. God it's horrendous, it's worst between my thighs and on my hands and has now started on my face. The antihistamines do absolutely nothing at all. I'm really sad I don't feel like hugging my DC.

My daughter has had it since a child, lots of prescriptions over the years, moisturisers, coal tar and salylicilic acid ointment, steroids, shampoos etc, sunlight helps plus now on dovobet which is very good, patience and time is your friend plus don't stress yourself, it only gets worse
