How long do you wait before hearing back from a job?

I applied for a few jobs the past few days and haven't heard back from any of them. Anything I can do ? I had my last day at my previous job on the 31st of July and I am eager to get a new job and it's putting a lot of stress on me.

I would say up to two weeks after the closing date I would chase. However, it is the middle of August, so things can take a bit longer if one of the recruiters are on holiday for example.

You may never hear anything unless you are called for an interview. So keep on applying elsewhere and do temp work.
