Ryanair baggage confusion

Hi everyone not sure I'm
Pairing in the right area, but here goes,
I'm travelling with the family later this week. Has anyone travelled with Ryanair very recently as their baggage times have changed ?? So I understand you have to take 2 bags on as hand luggage, larger own will be put in hold and the smaller one should be a small bag to go under the seat. So 2 questions:

  • how strict are they with the size of the smaller bag that goes under the seat? As their measurements are for a tiny bag, I've got a small backpack for my daughter I'm sure it will fit under seat but it measures slightly bigger??
  • I've also got 2x 20kg bags checked in, it says the max size for this bag shuld be 81x119x119cm is this correct , as I've got a large suitcase but it's not as large as this and this seems huge
  • for a baby bag for infants it says 5kg allo es to carry on, but I can't see it anywhere confirming if this has a size restriction?? I've got a large backpack as a baby bag for my little one?

Sorry that was 3 questions, Any help would be much appreciated Thanks

User I do have a very small across body bag that just about. Fits passports and travel documents and my purse. Hairbrush etc all in baby bag. Thank you for your help hopefully no one will check our bags 🙈

I fly Ryanair a lot and they havent ever checked the small bags (even since the new regs came in). My travelling handbag is quite a large backpack but nothing has ever been said.

No, they don't seem to care about that either. Ryanair flying is SO much more relaxing than it used to be! I remember being barked at that the newspaper I was reading in the queue also counted as an "countable item for carryon"! several years back. Now its any old case in the hold, and old bag in the cabin, duty free and whatever you're having yourself Wink

Toomany sounds good thank you x

I think the new rules will actually help you as they are so busy whizzing down the queue to tag luggage which will need to go in the hold that they barely glance at handbags etc.

I travelled with Ryannair a few weeks ago and having measured and downsized my 2nd bag at home I noted that there were many people putting bags under the seat which were bigger than I would have expected given the dimensions quoted - including small rucksacks.

Haha - flew Ryanair a few weeks ago and they didn't seem at all bothered about size. I paid priority (means my meds are definitely on the plane - I'm paraniod!) and had both bags at my feet. They didn't notice or, if they did, they didn't care.
