Harrods pet shop for animal mad DD?

I am taking DD age 10 to London this weekend. Will probably go to the Natural History museum and the V&A and I was also thinking about talking her to Harrods where I believe they have a pet shop? She loves animals but I am not talking her to London Zoo (before anyone suggests it) and I thought this might be a good option. Has anyone been recently? Do they have animals, is it nice?

I think it closed down some time ago.

It closed in 2014

Awww, that’s a shame.

Still, glad I asked!

As aforementioned the pet shop closed some years ago. How about Mudchute Farm? It's free and I think your DD may like it :)

Thanks, I’ll have a look.

There's a small, children's zoo in Battersea Park www.batterseaparkzoo.co.uk

TanteRose · 21/08/2018 06:19

why would you think of taking her to a pet shop, but not London Zoo?

I've never been but it looks really good en.wikipedia.org/wiki/London_Zoo

the oldest zoo in the world apparently Smile

London Zoo is a flaming rip off-avoid!

Battersea Children's Zoo however is brilliant-manageable size and it has a wonderful playground area too

TanteRose
Presumably because paying about £50 for two people to go to a zoo is an insane waste of money.

TanteRose · 21/08/2018 08:01

Ah okay - I was thinking of it from an animal welfare POV

Thanks for the suggestions! In the end we went to Buckingham Palace Mews where we saw some of the queens horses. An unexpectedly enjoyable thing to do.
