So, The Queen is into homeopathy then?!

Did we know this before, or is this news?

It’s certainly news to me. You think she’d have advisors on this kind of thing.

Meh. A lot of people believe in really daft things.

ShovingLeopard · 21/08/2018 00:01

It's not news. Been known about for years. The rest of the family are into it too, though it's usually only Charles who mentions it, though even he is probably put off saying anything about it now.

EnidButton · 21/08/2018 00:09

That's not what that article is about though is it? I'm as anti homeopathy woo bollocks as they come but that that was the main thing you took from a cyclist being killed is a bit tasteless.

Maybe if you'd said in your op that the link was about someone who has recently been killed and then said you were surprised to hear the Queen was a client. I don't know, seems a bit off.

I'm with Enid on this
Your thread is in pretty poor taste

A man has lost his life in a horrific accident and your first reaction to reading it is 'let's start an outraged thread on Mumsnet about the queen'

That poor man and his poor family Sad

PrimalLass · 21/08/2018 09:46

Poor man.

And why is it so scandalous anyway? She can seek whatever treatment she likes.

AviatorShades · 21/08/2018 09:51

I've known about it since forever.

Anecdotes - I had a friend, an elderly gentleman, ex-jockey, who regularly treated his horses with homeopathy remedies and always got good results.
And also a herdsman who treated his cows likewise. would cure them of mastitis etc.
SO, if it works for non-sentient animals, why not for us?
I'm sure that there are (possibly?) more charlatans than not, but I certainly don't dismiss it.

Sparklingbrook · 21/08/2018 09:52

I agree with tenbob.

AviatorShades · 21/08/2018 09:54

Sorry, don't know of the case in point. Seems I've got some reading to do when I'm back from work.

HotTeaCup · 21/08/2018 10:01

It's not news. The Royals have been advocates for homeopathy for a long time. What does it matter?

AllAtHome · 21/08/2018 10:02

I imagine someone who is going to go to the effort of using homeopathy with animals will look after them well in many other ways. This will mean that the animals are destined to do well and not necessarily due to homeopathy...

WellThisIsShit · 21/08/2018 13:16

Oh the poor man. I hope he didn’t suffer RIP.

MurunBuchstansagur · 21/08/2018 15:56

Aviator - except that tests prove that homeopathy doesn’t work because there’s no way it can work.

Anecdotes abound but anecdotes don’t equal data.
