Hate our tap water- help!

We've just moved into a new house and the water is disgusting. It smells and tastes of bleach, and me and the DC can't bear it.

I bought a Brita water filter to put in the fridge but it doesn't help. I can't even drink a cup of tea as can still taste/smell it.

What can I do? I'm feeling a bit desperate as don't want to resort to bottled water, as we're trying to reduce plastic, but will if I have to.

We're renting so can't fit a Quooker tap- landlord would happily let us and we have a 5 year lease but it seems silly to spend £1500! Any cheaper options?

Help please!

Maybe check the water tank in case there's something in there?

Is there a water softener there. Can you have it checked with the water company.

The bleach is chlorine. I don’t drink it neither. I buy tesco value to drink water but the boiled is fine.

Looking at the Virgin Pure machines- £19.99 a month. Anyone got one?

How about a water filter for taps - usually just installed in the kitchen just for the cold water. They are a few hundred pounds, as opposed to over a thousand for a Quooker.

I looked at the Brita tap which is just a filter under the sink- would it be any better than the Brit jug I'm using in the fridge? Cos that doesn't make a difference.

Fit a reverse osmosis filter under the sink, I've had one in the last three houses I've lived in, wouldn't be without it!
